So, I have been feeling blue lately. Not really sure why or if it was related to just being pregnant or something. Then....tonight so many answers came flooding in to help me out. The visiting teaching message this month telling me to remember who I am, what my potential is, and that I am a child of God. THEN....I read my friend Heather's blog, and she had posted exactly the way I feel. Heather I hope you don't mind that I am sharing your thoughts, but I don't think I could express it any better. It's just EXACTLY how I have been feeling. So here it is from the words of Heather:
"I catch a glimpse of your lives and I sometimes envy you. I see all the cool, crafty, artsy stuff that some of you do and I want so badly to be crafty. I start to wonder why I can't sew something other than buttons on shirts. I also see how perfect some of you are as mothers and wish I could be more like you. It's funny because I can tell these thoughts are usually brought on by Satan and I immediatly try to push them away, but yesterday I was having one of those days where I just couldn't let it go.
At one point I was even talking to Chris about this trying to figure out how I need to pick up a new hobbie so that I could feel fulfilled. I was looking at myself as weak sauce in need of a little extra spice to be ridiculously cool and good looking.
Well, as it usually happens when I feel this way, I found something that helped me snap out of my pouty, whiny-face state when I stumbled across this blog that totally changed my outlook. The author of this blog made me realize that "our worth is not defined by our skill at hobbies." She posted about being true to one's-self and helped me realize that we all are unique and special in our own way. So what if I can't sew, make a quilt, take amazing pictures, or even live in a fatty house. All of these things do not define who I am. All I know is that I am a Daughter of God and dog gone it I am special in my own way! I have plenty of talents and even if I didn't, who cares. I have two beautiful children and the most amazing, sexy husband (who, by the way, edits all my blog posts because my English skillz suck) and I have no reason not to feel fulfilled in my life.
President Hinckley said,"You are very precious each of you, regardless of your circumstances. You occupy a high and sacred place in the eternal plan of God, our Father in Heaven. You are his daughters, precious to Him, loved by Him, and very important to Him. His grand design cannont succeed without you."
So if you have ever felt like I did yesterday or if you find yourself feeling blue, take some time go check out this post, it's seriously worth the time. Plus, she talks about SYTYCD which is the greatest thing since shopping malls. You are all awesome!"
(slightly condensed version of Heather's post)
--Heather
I also have realized that I am unique and talented in my own ways, and people love me for different reasons, and most importantly, God loves me for who I am and the person I have become. Truly, that is most important. I will continue to try harder to be a better me, but at least I will have peace knowing that I am a daughter of God while doing it.

Last week
So, this last week was fairly uneventful. Kyle and I both got out hair cut. His is just a buzz cut, but kinda longer buzz, so it looks pretty good.

Here is mine. I took the pic with a phone, so quality is not so good. So, it's darker and it's an A-line cut. I will try to take better pics this week since you can't really tell.
Kyle also got the white iPhone 3G. He got his old iPhone unlocked which means other companies can use it, so he could sell his old one for more than the new one costs. So, he is very excited about that!

Friday, we went to the Bean Life Science Museum which is a museum on campus up by DT and saw all the taxidermy animals. Hallee absolutely LOVED it there. She loved looking at all the animals, and of course her favorites were the lion, monkey, and elephant. She just had the best time, walking around everywhere, pointing at all the animals, and "talking" excitedly the whole time. It was fun to watch her that way.
Anyway, life is good. Hallee is growing tons and starting to talk a lot and she understands a lot more. We have 16 weeks left until we have another baby. And, no, still no names yet. That's about it!

Youth Conference
This last weekend we went to the Ward Youth Conference, since Kyle is an advisor in the Priest Quorum. It was quite interesting to do with a 1-year-old. It's a lot different than the Youth Conferences I remember. It was just the ward. And there were no dances. Weird huh? And there were about 35 youth. Anyway...We went down to Fairview Utah, where a member in the ward has a ranch house with horses and other ranch stuff.

So, the girls slept in the house, and the boys and other leaders slept outside, in tents or just outside. So, we did a little camping for the weekend.

The first day they all went to the Temple to do baptisms, came back for lunch, then we went to Genoa, Ut for a Service Project. We cleaned up a playground for an elementary school for children that are illegal immigrants, I think. They were all spanish kids. And the bus said "Migrant bus." Anyway, the playground was all overgrown weeds, and it was dirty and sad. After we were done with it, it was beautiful. They also gave us Horchata with strawberries in it....yummy.

Next day we went to a state park...basically a lake. They had the kids in groups and they had them build boats like Nephi, using only materials provided like inner tubes, doors, and rope. They had a gimp person that couldn't help at all, a murmurer like Leman and Lemuel, and a blind person. It was really fun to watch them build these boats. Then they had to go a certain distance in the water and come back without getting certain items wet. That was fun. Then they had all those inner tubes and they rented a few canoes and just played out in the water for a few hours.

That night after dinner they had the kids do a blind walk. The night before they did this where certain people were leaders and they had to lead the groups in a field blindfolded, and they had to trust and listen and have faith. So, this blind walk was different because they had them walk over a mile, blindfolded, to symbolize the Nephites in 3 days of darkness before Christ came, to help the youth get a feel for a long period of time in darkness. They had people like the Bishop, YW president, and other leaders like that leading each group, and they could only lead using their voices. When they got to the top, they shined a flashlight in their eyes, with the blindfolds on, to show that it was a special place. Then they took off everyone's blindfolds and they had campfires and the bishop spoke about coming to Christ. Then they had a testimony meeting and all but 2 of the youth bore their testimonies.
Saturday we just packed up, ate breakfast, and Kyle gave a devotional/spiritual thought about overcoming temptations, and obedience with exactness. He used Teancum as an example who stabbed Amaleki in the heart, killed him, and then stabbed Ammoron near the heart, which didn't kill him, and the guard woke up and killed Teancum. So, if you just skirt around a temptation, it can come back easier. But if you stop it right away, it's less likely to come back. And that they need to be proactive in being examples and for standing up for what is right.
Anyway, this is a long post, but I was very touched by the strength of the spirits and testimonies of these kids. I am so glad we got to go too. I really love our ward.

Independence Day fun!
So, Kyle was actually able to get off work Friday night, so we considered watching Myley Cyrus at Stadium of fire....not really. We decided to go up to Park City where at the Park City Resort they do fireworks. Kyle's grandma has a condo up there, so we went up after Kyle's day shift, and we ate dinner, went swimming, then went over to watch the fireworks. It was amazing! You get to sit on the bottom ski run, on some blankets, and the fireworks feel like they are on top of you and will fall right on you. It was great! I haven't seen fireworks that close up in a long time. And, Hallee did great, and enjoyed the fireworks too! Oh yeah, and this Friday we get to find out (hopefully) what we are having!!

Hallee's Birthday party
Hey go to gallery.mac.com/kyle_payne to see pics from Hallee's birthday party. It was lots of fun and Hallee had a great time. We had it at the clubhouse in our townhome complex and we had a bbq and one of those big bouncer things. There were about 40 people there. Hallee having a birthday was really just an excuse for us to have a big party! Thanks Hallee.
